Puppy Safety
Keeping your boxer puppy safe starts with training him to respond to his name and come when he is called. It is very important that you be able to command you puppy's attention and summon him immediately if he starts doing something he shouldn't.
Use your puppy's name often and make "Come!" the first spoken command your puppy learns, always followed by praise. By doing this your boxer puppy will learn to associate positive experiences with this command.
Always supervise him when he is outdoors. When your puppy is outside, he should be contained in a fenced area or walked on a leash. No matter how watchful you are, it is not a very good idea to leave you boxer puppy unattended.
Should you boxer become lost, here are some tips which might help you find him:
Microchipping your puppy when you purchase him.
Place an ad in the "lost in found" section of your local newspaper or on websites with local listings such as craigslist.org
Create a flier that includes up to date photos of you boxer puppy.
Go to your local veterinary clinics and ask permission to leave fliers.
Go to local stores and ask permission to post flyers.
Visit you local humane organizations often to see if your puppy has been turned in. Post fliers there too.
